Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) Information Available Online

Health Management Systems, Inc. (HMS) has been assigned as the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) for the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Pursuant to Section 6411 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, HMS is authorized to audit Medicaid provider payments and associated financial records, identify improper payments, and recover any overpayments made to the provider. Information on RAC audits, including upcoming events and approved issues for review, is available online at www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/rac
